Nov 28, 2012 · In case you don't have root on your Android phone and you are on Android version older than 3.1 Honeycomb, then you will need to configure AdBlock Plus as a proxy server manually. Not sure if AdBlock still uses the 'proxy server' method or not, but I use AdAway since all it does is update the local hosts file, so it's fairly non-intrusive, doesn't use memory, and is easy to revert.
