May 01, 2014 · In the Airport Utility, under Internet in the TCP/IP tab, the DNS servers are correctly set to my DNS servers on the main subnet. When I do an ipconfig /all on a mobile device, it is showing those DNS servers as WINS servers, and the DNS server being the IP of the airport.
Setup OverPlay SmartDNS: Apple AirPort Extreme/Time Open AirPort Utility, either from the Dock or the Utilities Folder. Click on your AirPort Extreme or Time Capsule, and select Edit. Select the Internet Tab from the option across the top. Enter the DNS addresses which appear below into the 'DNS Server' boxes and click ‘Update’. If you are still having problems with No DNS.. Open AirPort Utility, click on the AirPort Express, then click Edit in the smaller window that appears. Click the Internet tab at the top of the window. Type in 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 in the DNS Server fields. Click Update at the lower right of the window and give the AirPort a full minute to restart Issues include the Apple AirPort’s status lights changing from green to yellow once or twice a day while constantly dropping the signal or providing no internet connection at all. Enter the DNS servers in the Primary DNS Server and Secondary DNS Server fields. To use OpenDNS, enter 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220; To use Google DNS, enter 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4
