Because 0.0.0.0 is not a valid destination address, this is simply an invalid configuration. DNS servers, like other regular IP services, need to be addressed by a valid destination IP address, ie. anything but 0.0.0.0 and 255.255.255.255 minus a few reserved ranges.

May 17, 2006 · I have searched and tried all the MS and other solutions but I must have missed the fix for the DNS server Client. OS is 2k3 AD mixed mode. Environment is AD with (2) DNS servers with (2) WIN servers. You may need to change the 127.0.0.1 to 0.0.0.0 or to an internal server, as discussed above. Instead of querying an upstream DNS server for the answer, your local DNS server believes it is a "master" for the "coolwebsearch.com" domain.
